Catalystics: Reflections on 2025 and What's Next
As the curtain falls on 2025, I celebrate six months of full‑time work at Catalystics. It's been a whirlwind half-year of learning, partnership, and growth.
I've always been more of a "steady progress every day" type of person rather than one motivated by marking off major goals and achievements. Without looking up and taking a look at the landmarks, however, it can be hard to see where we're going or where we've been.
In that spirit, here are some highlights from the first half of our "year one".
Learning
One of the main motivations for me in starting a company was to expand my learning horizons. I'm grateful to all of the association leaders who have shared their time with me and invited me to propose working with them to help transform their organizations.
Enabling clients to streamline their systems and unlock deeper insights from their data remains a rewarding, ongoing mission.
Partnering
Collaborating with people I've long admired on projects where I can add unique value? Sign me up!
I especially found technical and strategic fulfillment partnering with Olitzky Consulting Group to deliver custom analytics on nonprofit membership trends and business performance. Using the lightweight, cloud-native, scalable data stack of Evidence, DuckDB, and MotherDuck, we delivered context and clarity to organizations forging new paths.
Thank you, Avi Olitzky, Susan Iris, Erin Haines, Jeremy Burgeson, Lowell Aplebaum, and Lino Tadros for making me a part of your teams. I look forward to many more "collabs" in 2026.
Contributing
Speaking of partnerships, my friends and partners at Associations North - particularly the amazing Angela Kisskeys - have been steadfast champions of Catalystics and of me personally. Partnering with the association and helping with market data analytics has taught me much about our community.
I'm proud to announce that I will be even more involved come this January. I am honored to have been elected to serve on the Associations North Board of Directors in 2026. Thank you to the staff and community for trusting me with this stewardship as we work to grow our reach and impact.
Relationships Matter
This year has been one of of personal and professional growth for me, one that has reinforced my appreciation of the value of relationships.
The relationships between processes, technologies, and people continue to fascinate me. Making these relationships easier and more empowering is what Catalystics is all about.
Above all, it's the relationships with people that matter most. The support of my family and friends - both old and new - as I set out on this new path has been humbling and heartwarming. I hope that I've been able to help you as much as you've helped me along the way.
So What's Next?
A new year always brings a spark and a renewed perspective. It's a rare, refreshing moment where we find new energy to deliver upon the changes we seek for ourselves and the people we care about.
Experience tells us, unfortunately, that this moment can be fleeting. Even as we commit ourselves to change, we can end up right where we started without a realistic, achievable plan.
I’ve spent the last six months talking and working with a number of forward‑thinking leaders who are eager to build engagement and impact through data, but lack the planning and expertise needed to align their business strategies with technology.
This year is all about bridging the gap between these ambitions and execution. Through our strategic technical architecture and roadmaps, leadership support, and custom data analytics, we help align people, processes, and platforms to deliver measurable impact.
We believe that successful digital transformation isn’t about chasing trends or cobbling together various tools. It’s about building resilient systems, adaptive planning, and learning cultures that produce sustainable value. That’s why we partner with our clients as trusted advisors, guiding them through complexity with clarity and confidence.
If you’re ready to make 2026 the year your organization finally delivers on its data ambitions, let’s connect and explore how Catalystics can help.
Happy New Year!
I wish you joyful, healthy, and productive 2026. Here's to another year of shared successes.
I look forward to seeing what we can do together this year. Thanks for reading!
See you in 2026!
- Brian
